BUSTOS BRANCH - BALIWAG DISTRICT - WEEKS 38 & 39
Baliwag Zone Conference - 6 June 2018
It's not all fun and games as a missionary, Elder Herrick had to get his wisdom teeth out!!
Post-Third Molar Extraction - just a little bit puffy!!
The culprits of all that pain!!
Celebrating Elder Galaboda's (from Sri Lanka) 21st birthday in style!!
I've been having this issue with my tooth for a
while whenever I eat it hurts but for some reason only when I
eat. When I put pressure on it normally it’s okay. I went to the
dentist three times and they thought I needed a new filling or to redo the filling.
Anyway, I finally got an x-ray done and to finish the story I got my wisdom
teeth out, yep all 4 of them. I only used injections and I was awake the whole
time. The top wisdom teeth were fine to get out, but the bottom teeth caused a
lot of trouble and pain. Although I had 6 injections for my bottom right tooth
it felt like it was doing nothing, it was the painfullest thing I have
experienced so far in my life. Didn’t cry though :) The cost is 40,000 pesos
which is $997.50. I don’t know if that is more expensive or less then what it
would cost if we did it in Australia. I’ve actually been teaching a few
lessons using that scripture recently and why as good people we still
experience the trials so yeah. Elder Galaboda and I are going
to be doing a lot of finding this week in order to increase our teaching pool
and hopefully find some better investigators. but yeah nothing spectacular this
week because of my teeth, and my comp can’t talk Tagalog so yeah, I had to push
through the pain to speak to them.
My companion turned 21 yesterday so I took him out to
Rico's restaurant on Saturday night and shouted him. It cost 1260, which is
like 35ish dollars which isn’t too bad for how much food we had. It was another
way of showing my love to him. We’ve worked hard this week to pick up the slack
of the last 2 weeks of my teeth and companion being so sick. Sadly, we only had
1 investigator at church, but he is definitely a progressing investigator.
After church that’s were we taught him and we had his friend there with us who
is a member and our BML so that was a great help. Hopefully we will be able to
bring another soul unto Christ in Bustos Branch. We also worked with the
senior couple in our ward this week showing them houses of members and less
actives so they can help clean up the CMIS list and throw out records that we
don’t need to make the amount of priesthood holders that we need smaller so we
can become a stake and not just a district, they then took us out for lunch
which was great. Actually had decent food for a while, instead of eating corn
beef, sausages, tuna or noodles cause that’s all we eat at home ha ha, just
like my first transfer haha. Have a good week guys love yas!!
Cheers
Elder Herrick
